Trip to Macau Part 1

Finally I have chance to upload my first post in November since my last update on being a Dribbbler. Me, my GF and her friends had a 5 days 4 nights trip to Macau in this early November. It was a total self explore with some guide maps and friendly local people.

We reach Macau at 1040am after more than 3 hours flight with Airasia. As soon as we reach Macau International Airport, the weather was cloudy and the temperature at noon time was around 26°C. Which this made our long walking trip a little less sweaty.

Currency: We faced difficulties in changing Malaysia Ringgit(MYR) to Macau Dollar(MOP) in Ipoh, we end up with exchanging MYR to Hong Kong Dollar(HKD) in Ipoh, then from HKD to MOP in Macau Airport. HKD is usable in Macau, but we found MOP is better.

THE ACCOMODATION

We early booked our room at Emperor Hotel through Agoda.com. We head straight to Emperor Hotel located in Rua De Xangai, we took taxi for the trip (MOP73 for 4 peoples + 3 luggage bags).

Overall the hotel appeared to be exactly as what we saw through their website. The room was clean, well equipped, includes a bath-tub with a see-through glass between the bathroom and the bed (yeah, you can have your romantic time together in the bath-tub while watching the television). As the lunch time closing in and our hungry for Macau food began.

THE LUNCH

We walk around the hotel area for restaurants to have our first taste on their local food. We ordered BBQ Pork Rice, Pork Chop Bun, Theng Jai Porridge, Wanton Soup Noodle and a bowl of soup.

BBQ Pork was different from what we found in Malaysia usually, while the rice was fragrance but with more BBQ sauce would be nicer. The Pork Chop Bun taste so so only, the pork chop was thick, but less juicy while the bread was slightly dried. The Theng Jai Porridge seems to be so so only. While the Soup (I forgot the name of the soup), I think the soup has been cooked for quite sometime as we found the soup was thick and tasty. The Wanton Soup Noodle was not bad, the wanton have 1pcs of prawn in each wanton, but the noodle itself were just normal only. Continue reading part 2.

      Thanks for dropping by. I think I spent around RM 2,000.00 / PHP 27,200. Including flights, hotel, food, transportation, souvenirs and etc.
